Dr. Taejeon Shin,

Dr. Taejeon Shin, a distinguished Licensed Acupuncturist, Chiropractor, and Educator, has an array of credentials and certifications from esteemed organizations. He is the first Certified Cranial Facial Release (CFR) Practitioner in Kansas, has credentials from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and is also the ONLY Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner in the state. His wealth of knowledge in both Acupuncture and Chiropractic practices is complemented by a familial legacy rooted in the realm of Korean Medicine. Propelled by his father's influence, Dr. Shin embarked on a decade-long journey of intensive study and practical experience, leading to the establishment of his own clinic in 2015 in Overland Park, KS. Today, Dr. Shin is passionately advocating for non-surgical approaches to pain relief and distinguishing himself as one of the select few professionals holding dual licenses in both Acupuncture and Chiropractic care.

Dr. Steven Yee

Dr. Yee is specialized in Chiropractic and Acupuncture and joined the Kansas Acupuncture Chiropractic Clinic in Overland Park, Kansas. He was a chiropractic patient before he ever thought of becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic. He was drawn to chiropractic and acupuncture care while he had a severe lower back injury after playing soccer. He had benefited from both treatments that kept him recovering from the injury and being in shape to perform back in the field. He was a managing leader in a multinational company for many years, responsible for accounting, taxation, and compliance. However, he returned to college and changed his career path to serve his community with the gift of chiropractic & acupuncture. He graduated from the University of Western States, earning a doctorate in chiropractics and a concurrent Bachelor of Science in human biology. He is passionate about healing and helping people in the local community by providing non-invasive treatments.

Where are you located?

7050 W 105th St. Overland Park, KS 66212

We are located off 105th Street and Metcalf Avenue, Just north of I-435. We are in the 103rd shopping center where Pier One Imports and D’Bronx are. You will have to enter into the courtyard area, as you will not be able to see our office from the exterior.

How will I feel after treatment?

After the initial treatment, you may experience fatigue, stiffness or soreness. These symptoms are normal and can be relieved with rest, proper nutrition and hydration. If you have any concerns about these or other symptoms you experience please do not hesitate to call our office.

What is EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) and how does it work?

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) uses pads to send low-frequency electrical pulses into the muscle tissues to stimulate them, which increases the circulation and promotes healing and increased range of motion.

Does Acupuncture Hurt?

Occasionally, there may be some pain or discomfort but these feelings typically subside as the body reacts and adjusts to the stimuli.

Which treatment is right for me?

During the initial consultation, Dr. Shin will evaluate and discuss the patient’s condition and determine the best treatments from there. Our goal is to provide total care for our patients, and typically treatment includes a combination of acupuncture, chiropractic care and physiotherapy to achieve the best results. Any patient concerns should be discussed with Dr. Shin during the consultation.

How many times do I need to receive treatment?

While most patients experience improvement after the first visit, every body is different and the results can vary. Most patients will need to come for multiple treatment sessions, depending on their condition and the severity. Dr. Shin explains his treatment plan after the first visit to give the patient and idea of what to expect during their course of treatment.

Is Acupuncture Safe?

Yes. Dr. Shin uses single-use, disposable needles for acupuncture.

What is ShockWave Therapy and How does it work?

Miracle Wave Therapy (a.k.a. ShockWave) uses sound wave technology to improve circulation and healing in the muscle tissues, as well as increase range of motion. For more information, Please visit their website themiraclewave.com. This treatment differs from ultrasound and laser therapy.

Can I submit claims to my Insurance?

We are In-network with BCBS. We are able to submit claims to Medicare and other insurance providers. We are happy to verify Insurance benefits for In-network and Out-of-Network insurance plans.
