Neck Adjustments
(Turtleneck syndrome, anterior head Carriage, forward head posture)
Have you been in a car accident, worked at a desk for long hours, or spent too much time looking down at your phone? This creates issues like turtleneck syndrome, where your neck tilts forward. Neck adjustments can help! One adjustment can relieve pain, increase range of motion, or give you a mood boost. Here’s a success story from a real KAC Clinic patient.
Upper and Lower Back Adjustments
Back adjustments can be good for anyone. Life and stress can impact your posture. Lower back pain is very common, and often resulting from anterior pelvic tilt. This is when your hips rest in front of your spine instead of behind it, causing your back to hunch. Lower back pain, groin pain, and stiff muscles can all be signs you have some pelvic tilt and need a back adjustment.
Consistency is Key
It may take more than one appointment to get the best benefits from chiropractic adjustments. Correcting the spine after strain or injury is not a one-stop fix. This doesn’t mean treatment isn’t working! It is a normal part of the healing process for chiropractic care.
How it Works
First, we will take an x-ray of your spine and do a posture test with you. Dr. Shin uses this to understand how your spine needs to be adjusted. He will create a plan with you, and then walk you through each step of the adjustment in a comfortable and clear way. The KAC Clinic team will also show you how to exercise properly to maintain correct posture and range of motion.
FAQs
-
Yes. It is perfectly safe when a trained specialist does it. A chiropractor completes years of training and certification to practice. Be honest about preexisting conditions like spinal cancer or previous surgeries. This helps doctors to treat you safely and effectively.
-
No. Another name for an adjustment is spinal manipulation. It doesn’t break anything. The cracking you feel is the realignment of your spine. A chiropractor is helping your spine back into the healthiest shape, but nothing is actually breaking.
-
It depends on your body. It can hurt a little, but it’s over quickly! Dr. Shin is careful to minimize pain and maximize effective results. He will never do something without communicating with you about what you want. Other non-surgical treatments, such as electroshock therapy, can also help.
-
Some people experience lingering soreness after treatment. This will go away, and in its place you will feel much better than you did before. Adding acupuncture to your adjustment may also speed up the healing process.
-
First, you’ll get an x-ray and perform a simple posture test. Then what happens depends on where the pain is. If it’s all in your neck, you may lay down on your stomach the whole time. If it’s in your upper back, you may need to stand or sit.
-
Anyone. It’s normal for life to affect your posture. Modern technology is affecting our neck and spine. Adjustments are good for people who experience auto injuries, autoimmune issues, manual labor, or desk work.
-
Examples include back pain, neck pain, numbness or general body aches, headaches, pregnancy or menstrual pain, range of motion issues, allergies, and mental health issues.
